  1. In the first scene it was really bad. First, tht place did'nt accept people from other races. Second, the black man was hired in the rest. when they didn't accpet different races, and he is an African-American. Thirdly, we are all humans created equal to god and we have to treat like good brothers and sisters, like good society.

The second scene was schocking. First, the white man cared for the latin costumers. Second, he helped them to choose their order. thirdly, the latin woman costumer wasn't allowed, too, so the white woman that was sitting there helped her. Fourthly the white man that was working felt superior than everyone no matter what, and he started arguing with white woman because he was really angry that ther races were still coming to the store. Now the rest. is now open for all kinds of races. These two people that helped them showed how we should be treated as a big family from all over the world.

  2. I think that that’s not justice because it was like shocking when the customer didn’t now how to talk English he was latin and the person in the store started arguing that he couldn’t be there and all that stuff, in other words he is a racist with other people that talk a different language, and have different cultures. We are living in a world where they are many people that are racist and that’s not good we need to be carful with what we say and do.

  3. The first scene was very disturbing. I really don't understand why people won't let others that speak different or that the color of their skin is different be at certain places, we are all the same on the inside because that is what matters. The second scene i was proud because the man stood up for the latin workers. I would have just gone like the woman because a place that discriminates isn't worth a penny. Ana García Roig 7B-2

  5. This is sad thing to see how people discriminate others not only by their skin color but something like RACE! It's ot fair. People are created equally and should also be treated equally. This is really cruel and I was shocked by how they treated this poor man! It's time to change and to react to what we are going through now a days.

  6. When I watched this video I felt ashamed because I can't believe that people could do that. I think it is very bad what the man does to does people because their not American. I would like to see what he would do if they did that to him or any of his family members. It is not the right thing to do because everyone is human and they shouldn't be judged because they aren't from America.

  7. It is sad to see that in the 21st. century racial discrimination still exists and everyone is not treated the same way. In the first video, not only a White man, but also an African-American discriminate against hispanics. It is incredible that an African-American, who has also been a victim of racism, treats another human being in such a degrading way; although at the end he asks for forgiveness. In the second video, it is comforting to see that there are people that do not tolerate racism and take a stand against it. As Martin Luther King is quoted at the end of this video:"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter".

  8. With this video I couldn’t believe all the discrimination going on in such as white man as black man sometimes they just live together like a big family .When the white man did that to the other man just because he wasn't American like him. Every one is the same human body but we aren’t the same type of race. This is the only thing we have different from each other and we have to respect each other.

  9. I am sooooo impressed about the video. This is definitely racial discrimination. I think that what the man and the woman did (stand up for the not Americans) was a fantastic thing because they showed the guy behind the counter that they were and are all equals, although the guy behind the counter kept fighting as if they were not even talking. This is really choking because those people (the ones that did not wanted to serve the poeple that were not Americans)thought that they could treat people that way no matter what just because they were not Americans.I think that we also have to respect each other to avoid this from happening again in the future.

  10. I think it was really mean how the African American man discriminated the poor Mexican man. They treated him very mean. But i really liked the part were almost all of the people helped him order. At the end when they interview the Mexican Man he cried because he felt very discriminated and the worst part is that the African American Man denied that he was racist because he didn't want to accpet it.

  11. whaoo!I am shocked! I have never seen such an impressing video about racial discrimination. I think that the African American man acted without thinking because then he realized what he had done and that he had also sufferd from discrimination. I also think that just because you are different from others that doesnt give you permission to discriminate me or do something to me because we are all humans made by god our father that tought us to respect each other as we are. I think that the man and the women that helped them order made the man of the counter realize what he had said and done.

  12. I am very, very shocked! I can't beleive people like that exist! How could they treat people like that! I can't believe that only because they are Mexican they cant buy freely at a store. Racism hurts peoples feelings and one should not discriminate against them because we are all equal.

  13. People like Mario suffer every day and it is very hard to watch. The man and the woman did very well for standing up for the latin people. The african american man at the begining did very wrong by telling the latin man to leave. We were made equaly by God and we must treat each other equaly and respectfully.

  14. When I first saw this video I was very shocked. It is not fair for people like me and you suffer this experience. I would feel very sad if someone dares to do that to me. I could not believe what I saw in this video. What I would do if this happen to me is to gain strength, believe in myself and fight for my right. If I trust in myself and if I defend my rights I know that good things can happen. Racist people have no right to treat other people with no respect. They do not realize what they say, which is very rude and mean. I learned that in different places you can find good people who are helpful. This are the people that are not racist that we can trust and always count on. But also you find bad people who wants to humiliate others only because of the color of their skin, or where they came from and anything can happen. For me it is important to defend the rights of human being.

  15. I was very sad to watch this because it is very unfair to poeple that are not from the states. Mexicans,Puertoricans,Colombian i dont care where they come from they should be treated with respect like any other American. It was very good of that man and that woman to defend the Mexican that an example of a good person!!. Claudia Coira 7B-4

  16. When I saw this video I felt sad and sorry for the man. It's unfair not attend a humman just like you just because he doesn't talk english. He should be aware that the language of the people means understanding other cultures. So, he shouldn't disscriminated someone for just having a different culture and he should remember that USA was created of differents cultures. All hummans should be treated the same because we all are the same.

  17. When I saw the video I didnt think that I was going to see a person being discriminated by not talking english and it was very rude and I dont think that a person should be discriminated because of his language and the other man was telling him to leave I mean he was throwing him out of the place I was very mad. The woman was much better because she didnt care if they talk english or not she was confident that she won't tolerate discrimination and I am in her side.

  18. In the article is talking about an experiment. The experiment was made to prove that there are people that are racists and that they can show the world that is not correct. The experiment was done in "groups" because there was more than one university.I think that the experiment was a nice thing to do.

  19. WOW! I thought that prejudice was only between white people vs. black people. When I saw the video I thought of all those things, about the white man telling the latin men to get out of the resturant and how the black man was also telling them to leave. He is behaving just like the white man but in a different way. I think that its a case of racism, because the white man its trying to get rid of the latin men because he thinks that his language is the only one for the whole territory so he doesn't accepts other languages. He is being prejudiced. I think that the persons that were defending them were doing the right thing. The white man that was defending them was trying to express himself by telling the owner that he was doing a very bad thing. The white woman that was waiting for her turn was brave to express herself by telling the owner that he must stop what was he doing because thats not getting him anywhere. It was a very tense and sad situation that should not happen.

  21. I think that doing that experiment was a good idea because you can see some people that stand up for those persons. They speak up compassionate but tough defending the immigrants. We shall always remember the words of Martin Luther King that said, “Our lives began to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” We can be indifferent.

  27. OMG ! I am very shocked ! I can't believe an American would discriminate people just because they aren't from America and talk Spanish ! And then came the African American and started to discriminate those people again ! I was so sad ! I thought that discrimination was only between African Americans and white people. But then I liked the part were another man comes and "teaches him a lesson". I liked the video teaches a very important lesson for life.

  28. The first scene in a diner a waiter ciscriminates an mexican american and an African american man tells him to leave the restaurant right now. The second scene a man gets discriminated for being mexican and a man comes in and tries to translate his order and says that they don't treat people that way. And that he has to take the mans order. This man was very nice I would do that
. The third scene is an Mexican American woman and a woman comes in and says that they can't treat her that way and that she wants to cancel Her order . I would do the both last ones because it is very mean they are people just like you just because they don't speak your language does not mean you can treat people like that.

  29. I cried becuase my mom is Mexican and she canrt speak very well english, but she is still able to talk the language. I have been judged by coming from a Mexican family. I whent to united States and i was speaking sapnish with my dad and the told us we had to get out of the resturant. i just think is not fear. We are alll the same jsut diferent color. Thatv doesnt mean we are animals or mosters.

  30. I was shocked when I saw this video because it's not fair that people these days are treating others like that. I did not like the servant's attitude, he was so rude and if I were the manager I would fire him immediately, not get even with him. But I was so proud of the man and the lady that were defending them, that means that they care for others and have a heart. I wish that people would stop being racist because that's not fair, Imagine that the servant would come to a Puerto Rico deli and they would kick him out because he doesn't know spanish, how would he feel? God made us different in cultures but actually were all persons, we don't have to be treated like animals that way.

  31. It really choked me because it is not fair that they treat people like that because everyone is human and their the same and we don't treat anyone like they did in the first part of the video. The second and third part of the video was really truly inspiring because we can see that there are people in this world that care for the other peoples feelings and they stand up for it.

  32. I was literally in shocked because I can't believe that so many americans could be so racist.I have experienced racism on a cruise. The kids were telling us that me and my friends have to leave because we were puertorican. God made us with a reason, that we would get along with people and make friends from other countries.

  33. I can't believe how racist or rude people can be. Everyone must have had a racist moment. The men how work in the bakery seem to be very very very racist but it was good to know that it was an act. How the people reacted to the racism didnt realy surprise me because most people dont accept others for who they are, how they are , and realize that they are just the same , we all have hearts, we all have flesh, we are all the same , maybe not in the outside (our phisical features) but in the inside , which is what counts, we are the same.

  35. I was shocked when I saw this video. The first man from the clip was very mean and disrespectful but the other two from the second clip did a really good thing, they defended him. I hope someday racism stops but everyday they just get worse. It doesn't matter what color of skin you have, where you come from, your religion or the color of your hair, we all have feelings. We have to respect others, racism is unnecessary. Racism is like bullying, disrespecting someone because they're different. STOP RACISM AND RESPECT OTHERS.

  36. Wow! It's unbelievable that people are still discriminating against others just because they can't speak English. I thought racism was a thing from the 1930's but this video shows it's still going on today in the midst of the 21st century, only thing is that now the attitudes are not as openly expressed. Instead of supporting the people who hurt others by racial discrimination we should help the victims of it like Mario. Bravo for the people who stood up against racism! I only wish that I will behave like them if something like this ever happens in front of me.

  37. Its shoking how some people still think that there somewhat, somehaw better than others what happend to that mexican man is unacceptible .Just because he cannot speak english that does not mean that they have to embarrased him like that. I feel sorry for what they did to him but ashamed of those people for not respecting other persons just like them butjust from a different language.

I really think that the Mexican man got offended and did not like what they did to him and that it wasn't nice ita was actually really rude. And people like him shoudn't be t5reated like that ,they should have moprte respect no, the WHOLE respect .Back then they treated them badlybut that was BACK THEN they shoudn't be treated do badly and rude because of their skin color.

  40. Its incredible and sad to see that an African American acted like a racist with the Mexican people, when I'm sure that he and his family have been discriminated! They do not only discriminate people for their color they also discriminate for not speaking English. Its sad to see that some people do not help others just because of their language or where they come from.

  41. Its amazing how sad it is to see the african americans being discriminated , they acted like racist with the mexicans and the only do it because of their skin color and race. Its very hard for them to go through all this pain.

  42. I couldn't belive my eyes when I saw this. That store had no respect for other races of people. Why can't people see that we are all the same on the inside,no matter where we came from.

  43. Its sad to still see people discrimanating. And I think that people should never discriminate against someone else just because they don't come from the same place as you do. The people who defended the ones that were being discriminated should be proud because they were helping the people that shouldn't be treaded differently.

  44. Since when did people do not let other people buy a burrito or taco because of their race?!?!Why do people have to be so mean to people different from themselves? And to think that this happens to this VERY DAY....this is just frustrating, anoying and just plain sad...and the fact that we all know that we are latinos, African-Americans,asian,european and so on,but that doesn't mean to act disrectpectfully to other people of different races.IF YOU THINK THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE LIKE THIS...THEN YOU'RE JUST PLAIN CONFUSED,because I know that you couldn't WALK A SINGLE MILE on their shoes. So mock me,whatever,I don't care what you think, and if you think that this comment is wrong then you are the one wrong a because they are flesh and skin, just like you and me,but with a differnt color, story and even a different type of life.So I am really happy to see that other people think like me and that together we can stop racism and make our world a better place......

  45. I cannot believe what i saw! It is unbelievable how those Americans treated those Mexicans, with no respect or humanity. It is even more shocking to see that people seeing this act of such racism support it. People have lost their values and it is clear that with the absence of these values, our society is nothing. People have to start caring and loving their neighbors. This is the only way of making a change is this world that needs one so urgently. It is time to take a stand against racism! We must start by making sure we treat others the way we want to be treated! Love is the only answer!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am both surprised and saddened. I am surprised because it is hard to believe that this racist behavior is still going on in America. I am also saddened because of the lack of respect, love and compassion I witnessed. We must come together as one race and fight and end all discrimination once and for all.

  47. I still can’t believe that racism is still going on. Racism is a form of hatred. Everyone should be treated equally, no matter the color of their skin, nationality, language or religion. In the video I could clearly see the racism in the store. There is no purpose in mistreating other people; we are all human beings who had no choice at the moment of birth. I was surprised to see a black person (who were the main targets of white men) supporting a racist behavior against a Latino in the deli. You can see how the Latino people felt and expressed their feelings to the reporter. The Latinos were really sad because of the discrimination and one was threaten with the police if he didn’t leave. At the end of the video the reporter inspired me with Martin Luther King’s words: “Our lives began when people were silent about the things that matter”.
