" Dickon, Mary and Colin's Friendships :Everyone Wins"
First, Mary becomes healthy both physically and emotionally. Second, Dickon's self-confidence grows when he teaches Mary how to plant seeds and how to distinguish the flowers. Finally, Colin learns how to walk, makes new friends and reconciles with his father. Having friends gives the children a new outlook on life and makes them dream of a bright future.

ReplyDeleteDickon,Colin, and Mary have the greatest friendship. They have the greatest friendship because they will always teach someone something new everyday. They have a real friendship and they can be an example of how good friends help each other and have each others back. I can really express myself through this book because it has a lesson about friendship. That lesson is that if don't have friends you can always make new frineds by just being yourself and by helping others.
Congratulations, Ana! You're made the first comment.

ReplyDeleteWhen you have a problem or situation you can always go to your loyal friends and tell them so they can help you because when you feel alone, always think about your friends that are always by your side and can be helping you at any time.
Friendship isn't just a quality that entertainment yourself, it's also a quality that make you a happier and a better person.
ReplyDeleteFabiola Guasp 7B-3
Friends can certainly make you happy. Look at Mary and Colin! They were able to change the negative aspects of their personalities with Dickon's help. They developed a love for nature, also.
ReplyDeleteVerónica Reguero 7B-2
ReplyDeleteMary,Colin and Dickon have a really good relationship! They support each other a lot. I think that it was not a bad idea that Mary told Colin and Dickon about the garden because that helped bringing them together. If it wasn't for the garden Mary, Colin and Dickon would not have the great relationship they had.
Dickon, Mary and Colin have a true friendship. This paragraph has a very important lesson that we all can apply in our lives. The lesson is that frienship gives hope and fullfilment in life because life is not about one self only.
ReplyDeleteCristina Arruza 7B-2
Mary, Colin, & Dickon are best friends. Mary was brave to tell the secret because by the time Mary got to know Colin & Dickon better. And look know their best friends. This tells you that you can havee a realy close relation with your friend without keeping a secret or lying.
ReplyDeleteEstefania Ramirez 7-B1
I think that now that Mary, Dickon and Collin are friends there life has changed completely. Like for example Mary's life changed when she started to have friends and Collin's life changed when he started to walk and started to talk to his father again. I also think that this story has a good lesson. The lesson is that friends are important in you’re life because when you need them they will always be there for you and when they need you will always be for them also.

ReplyDeleteMary, Colin, and Dickon have a strong friendship that will last for a long time. Thanks to her friends Mary became a sweet little girl. Colin's health recoverd from being bedriden to being able to walk as a normal child would. Dickon was able to help them both on their path to recovery. Thanks to their friendship their problems where gone.
I think Mary, Colin and Dickon are going to be friends for a very long time because they all get along and have fun together. I also think that Mary and Colin are going to have a great time in the house when they can’t go to the garden. It is nice to have a cousin your same age because you are kind of interested in the same thing and you have more fun than with a cousin bigger than you or smaller.
ReplyDeleteAna Teresa Garratón 7B-4
Friends are people that you wil need for the rest of your life. They are the people that help you through the hard times. Friends don't have to have everything in common, you can be really different but still be friends, like Mary, Dickon and Colin. So it doesn't matter if you don't have anything in common, what matters is that if you are thre for them, they will be there for you.

ReplyDeleteFriends are always behind your back helping you, teaching you and catching you every time you fall. That is the friendship that Mary, Dickon and Colin have.
You can always count on your friends they will always be there through good times and bad times. The garden helped Mary,Colin and Dickon's frienship with each other.
ReplyDeleteI love all my friends because they are there when I am sad , when I am lonely , they are there when I am mad they calm me down , my friends are always there and I don’t now what I would do without them.
ReplyDeleteI think that Dickon,Mary and Colins is like that!
Ana Garraton 7B-4
If you have good friends and you are nice to those friends you will always have a reason to be happy. Look at how Dickon was nice to Mary and Colin and they were nice back which made all three of them have a nice, trusting relationship with each other (and the only fight they had were when Colin thought he was going to die and when he had his tantrums).

ReplyDeleteI think Mary, Dickon, and Colin are great friends because they love each otherin every way. First, they all love being in the garden planting beautiful flowers. Second, they all love animals. Finally, they all love being together. The most important thing in a friendship is love.
Mary,Dickon and Colins friendship is great, because in the story they all help each other. Mary helped Colin to learn how to walk and to reconcile with his father. Dickon helped Mary to bring back alive the garden and Colin helped Mary, by being her friend, to become happy, healthy and to have a new outlook on her life.
ReplyDeleteMary,Dickon and Colin are great examples to readers like us. They are great examples because they teach us how to have a productive friendship and a productive future. The same way friendship helped Dickon, Mary and Colin it could help people like us too that's why we should have friends like them and we will see difference in our future .

ReplyDeleteColin and Dickon's frienship benefits Mary & Colin. But, Colin changes because of Mary. Mainly the secret garden changes everyone at Misselthaiwe Manor.
Andrea Sanchez:
ReplyDeleteI think that Marry's arrival is a good influense on Collin. And the good idea of making Collin meet Dickon was jineous.I think since Marry's arrival everything went from bad to perfect.
I think that thanks to Mary everything changed because of her little change to help Colin changed everything little by little.
ReplyDeleteEstefania: Mary was certainly brave to confide her secret with Dickon and Colin. She knew no one was allowed in that garden. Was she wrong to trespass the gate?
ReplyDeleteMaria Carolina: You have made two important observations:first, friends can last a lifetime. Some of your current classmates can become lifelong friends. Also you point out that friends don't have to be exactly alike. I agree that choosing friends that may not be the same as us can also enrich our life and also become excellent friends.
ReplyDeleteAileen: Your description of friendship applies to Mary, Colin and Dickon's friendship both literally and figuratively.Mary and Dickon watch Colin's back in more than one way: as friends looking out for each other and preventing his fall when he's learning to walk.
ReplyDeletePaula : You bring up an interesting point regarding Colin and Mary's friendship. They fight when Mary scolds him for his terrible temper tantrums. She is brave to confront him considering that even the adults that care for him do not point out to him how terrible his conduct is.She helps him, though, with her constructive criticism.Colin needs someone to tell him the truth about his conduct. From that moment on, Colin's new insight helps him overcome his fears.
ReplyDeleteMariana:
ReplyDeleteChoosing our friends is a responsibility that we all have , even as adults.Looking for friends who are positive, hard-working, and goal -oriented will certainly motivate us to become like them.Choose your friends wisely.
Daniela: The doings of these three children influence eveyone at Misselwaithe Manor. Can that happen in real life?
ReplyDeleteAndrea: Mary's decision to introduce Colin to Dickon is certainly a genius one.Although Dickon teaches her all she needs to know about gardening and charming the forest animals, Mary is the mastermind in transforming the secret garden and integrating Colin to their play.
ReplyDeleteJanelle: " Little by little " is key to achieving perfection. I like the use of that expression because it implies that all of us, regardless of our limitations, can strive for excellence.
ReplyDeleteValentina:Dickon helps Mary by careing for others and by having to help someone in need, like Colin. The Secret Garden also helped her by having to work hard to for stay alive.

ReplyDeleteFriendship is a special relationship between people who enjoy being together and being there for each other in good and bad times. A friend is someone you can count on, like in the novel, The Secret Garden, with the help of Mary's friends she became healthy, happy and had a new outlook in life. Mary, Dickon and Colin experience their friendship together. They learn they have each other and that's what friends are for.
In "The Secret Garden" friendship is what most of the story is about because everybody wants to make friends. Friends always help and support you no matter how difficult or embarrasing the situation is. Mary,Dickon and Colin are very lucky to have each other because they needed some happiness in their lives. Ana Garcia 7B-2
ReplyDeleteI think that friends are very important in life. They are allways there for you and help you with yours problems or situations. Dickon, Mary, and Colin are allways there for each other and thats why the have such a great frienship. I also think that friendship is like something you need to have in life. Mary and Dickon where very good friends, but I was afraid that Colin wouldn't like Mary and Dickon since he was so mad and rude and didnt like noone to see him but instead he allways liked them.
ReplyDeleteI think that Dickon,Colin, and Mary have a great friendship because their are no lies in it and there is no secrets between them, and that is very important in a friendship because you know you have the trust of your friend and you can trust them.
ReplyDeletePatricia Bello 7B-2
I think that is a good thing that Dickon,Mary and Colin are friends because they can be there for each other when they have problems
ReplyDeleteIt is a very good thing that Mary , Dickon and Colin are friends because everybody needs a friend to help and support each other.
ReplyDeleteMary, Collin and Dickon have a great friendship because they all trust each other. For example, they kept the secret about the garden and about Collin walking. They enjoyed each other's company and learned from each other.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Mary,Colin and Dickon set good examples for each other by growing to love and cherish each other for who they are.
ReplyDeleteEmma Morales 7B-2
ReplyDeleteYes, they did set good examples. Dickon helped Mary by teaching her about nature and Mary helped Colin walk for the first time and took him out to the garden. Nature helped them both Colin and Mary and influenced them in a good way. It made them both realize the reality and positivity’s in life.

ReplyDeleteMary, Dickon and Colin's friendship is very loyal. Each of them bring great cuallities to this friendship, for example: Dickon brings the cuallity of life, and happiness. Colin, even though he is "ill" he brings enjoyment and as he says "magic" to the group! Mary brings the group together, and Mary's passion for the garden is whats making each of them each day more and more friends!
All in all their friendship brings together the best things about each and every one of them. That is why friendship is so important in life.
Friends and family are BLESSINGS.The only difference is that you get to choose your friends and GOD gives you your family then your friends become part of your family.

Friendship and family is very important for everyone because if you loose one of them, you can get love and happiness from the other one. Mary lost most of her family and lived happily with her friends in the garden.

ReplyDeleteMary, Dickon Colin’s Friendship
ReplyDeleteMary, Colin, Dickon's friendships are very good. First Mary meets Dickon around the gardens and liked each other. Second Mary heard a crying in the corridor and there she found Colin, Colin treated Mary better than the others. Finally Mary Dickon and Colin are good friends now. Thank to the good friends Mary has a better health and no loneliness.

ReplyDeleteMary, Dickon, and Colin are a example of a good friendship. First, in a good relationship you need to keep secrets. Then, friends help help each other with their problems. Finally, good friends help each other reach there dreams or goal. Everybody needs friends to make there life better, but always choose your friends wise.

Mary,Dickon and Colin's friendship...
ReplyDeleteMary,Dickon and Colin's frienship is a very healthy friendship.First Martha tells Mary to play alone outside the house, after that she met Dickon and liked each other as well.Second when Mary tried to sleep she kept cries in the corridors and met Colin, and after that Colin liked her cousin better than anyone in the house. Finally with the help of the good frienship Mary made the garden come alive!
Colin,Dickon and Mary love each other very much eventhough at first sight they didn't know that. They all keep the secrets and they spend a lot of quality time together. They are an example of a true friendship. At the end they all respect each other and care for each other. They treat each other like family that is what they really are. Ana García Roig 7B-2
ReplyDeleteI think that the friendship that Colin, Mary and Dickon had is the true meaning of unnconditional friendship because they helped each other no matter how bad or good the situation was. For example, Mary and Dickon helped Colin when he was in one of his awful tantrums. They helped him calm down and since that day, Colin had no more tantrums. Mary and Dickon also helped Colin to walk and reconcile with his father. For me that was very inspiring because not all of the persons in the world are willing to do that for their friends. Mary also trusted them with her secret, that she had found the "the secret garden", even when she did not know them very well. My point is that if you have a good friend, they will go to the end of the world to be with you and make you happy if your sad; that is unnconditional friendship.

ReplyDeleteI think Mary , Dickon and Colin's friendship is forever as every friendship should be!! They helped each other; Mary teaching Colin to walk, Dickon teaching Mary with gardening and teaching Colin about animals. When you have a friend you want to share thinks you like with them. You want to make them a better person.
Mary , Dickon and Colin had a very loyal friendship because they could trust each other and that's how it's suppose to be in a real friendship. Friends are persons that you can count on them and trust them to keep a secret and the example of Mary , Dickon and Colin its an example of a perfect friendship.
ReplyDeleteI think that friends are people you can trust on and that are there for you when you have a problem. Mary , Dickon and Colin were very good friends and by their friendship they solved there problems.

I think Mary made a good desicion by showing them the secret garden.I think she really trust her friends. i don't think mary can have better friends than them. Other than influencing Mary in a good way they help her through thick and thin. I think I have great friends and can't live without them.

ReplyDeleteMary , Dickon , and Colin have a great relationship. They keep the secret of the garden, they help each other in many ways, and they keep each other company. Now a days it is very hard to find a friendship like their's , an honest friendship, and at the end you'll see that the most important thing , the thing that conquers all is friendship .

ReplyDeleteFriends come and go you just have to choose carefuly.Sometimes the person you least expect can change your life forever.

ReplyDeleteWhat Maria said is right. Friends don't always stick together, but the one that goes with you throuth everything is a real friend for you.
Although the cholera made Mary loose her parents, it also opened a new door in her life. When she arrived in England she met Colin and Dickon, who later become her good friends. This friendship made all three of them become better and happier persons.
ReplyDeletePatricia I. Lopez -
ReplyDeleteAlthough Mary's parents die because of the cholera, this story for me was very good in the way that Mary changed. I think it's very good because of the way Mary changed her outlook and the experience she had meeting somebody that was like her, Colin, and meeting someone she wanted to be, Dickon, was good because she wanted to let go of her spoiled self and become a nice person. She canged because of that.
Friends are not only to have fun!! Friends are also to help each other and to be by your side all the time. They soppurt you ,they help you with your problems and make you happy when you are sad.Like Colin,Mary and Dickon.Mary helped Colin to walk and Dickon teached Mary to do gardening. They all helped each other like a family and that made them good citizens , better and happier persons.
